A typical day at Simplilearn is quite hectic. But yes, exciting at the same time. My daily routine is mostly monitoring our monthly plans. And in addition, I also work with external partners and vendors to identify new opportunities or build upon existing ones.
It may sound pretty simple, but this is just the tip of the iceberg. The monthly plan is what we mostly break our heads on – deciding the budgets for each channel, conceptualizing marketing plans in-sync with those of product, category, and sales, and brainstorm to find if there’s potential to add anything new to the existing mix.
Apart from this, I have a daily 20-30 minutes FIFA session on Play Station.
Stakeholder management across different functions would have to be the most challenging and also the most exciting aspect of my job. It’s crucial for the marketing strategy to be in sync with the product, category, and sales teams to be able to align and achieve the overall business objectives.
If there is one thing I have learned, it’s that experience alone isn’t enough to get you to your best. It is important to up-skill in a world which is moving so swiftly and with the emergence of new technologies ever so frequently, staying up-to-date is what is going to keep you and your skills valuable and relevant in the market.
